A Man after God’s own Heart. (series)

This evening at Bible Study, we continue on in our 12-week Bible Study series on the life of King David titled, A Man after God’s own Heart. We will be studying Part 4: Saul’s jealousy of David. Our anchor texts are 1 Samuel 18:5-16 and 19:1-10
Saul’s jealousy of David as seen in 1 Samuel 18:5-16 and 1 Samuel 19:1-10 showcases the destructive nature of envy and the blessings of honoring God. As David faithfully serves Saul and triumphs in battle, his growing reputation ignites Saul’s insecurity, leading him to irrational attempts on David’s life. Yet, despite Saul’s hostility, David remains steadfast, trusting in God rather than retaliating. His heart to honor God positions him for divine protection and ultimate success, while Saul’s self-centered ambitions lead him down a path of downfall.
Join us tonight as Minister Tomilade Adebari faciliates today’s study. We will be discussing in depth the differences between David and Saul’s heart and how it influenced each of their actions and mindset. This contrast will also reveal to us that, when one priortizes honoring God over personal gain, they walk in His favor and purpose, leading to a life marked by true success rather than destruction.
