Joyce Mattera

Joyce Mattera is a pioneering leader, intercessor, and co-founder of Resurrection Church, established in 1984 in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Alongside her husband, Joseph Mattera, she helped build a church known for its strong culture of discipleship, leadership development, and a powerful prayer ministry that contributed to the transformation of an at-risk urban community.

With a deep burden for the next generation, Joyce has been actively involved in reaching thousands of children through extensive street outreaches, demonstrating the love of Christ in some of the most challenging environments.

She is also the founder and director of Children of the City, established in 1981—a groundbreaking ministry that has impacted thousands of young people through holistic educational programs. Her work has been instrumental in breaking cycles of generational poverty and equipping children to thrive academically, spiritually, and socially.

Joyce is widely recognized for leading impactful corporate prayer gatherings marked by the presence and power of God. She carries a strong prophetic teaching gift and has helped many activate their faith to overcome oppression, experience divine healing, and walk in freedom.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Joyce has been married to Joseph Mattera since 1980. Together, they have raised five children and are blessed with nine grandchildren. Her life stands as a testimony of faithful service, spiritual authority, and generational impact.
