To understand the Significance of The Birth of Christ, about 700 years BC, Isaiah recorded a prophecy about the birth of Christ in Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore, The Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will conceive and will bear a son, and she will call his name Immanuel.” This was fulfilled in Matt.1: 18-23.

It is important to note that though Jesus was born as a child with flesh and blood, His source was the Holy Spirit. Although Christ was born of Mary, He was a child of the Holy Spirit and His element was divine.

Mathew 1:18 and 20 shows us that the birth of Jesus Christ was by no means the ordinary birth of an ordinary man; it was the extraordinary incarnation of God Himself. The birth of Jesus was the birth of a God-man, a wonderful Person who was both divine and human.
