Epistle of James

The epistle of James can be referred to as the “Proverbs of the New Testament”, or the “Application of the Sermon on the Mount”. In this series we will delve into the book of James as a “Guidebook for the Christian Life”.

The book of James provides practical, thought-provoking wisdom and advice on how Christians should present themselves and live as an example of Christ in all areas of their life.

Furthermore, it is a great tool especially for new believers to impart wisdom and instruction on their Christian journey.

We are entering the final week 10 of the teaching of the Epistle of James. In this last session we will be focusing on “Patience and Prayer.

One of the most intimate times you can spend with God is through prayer. Being able to have that one-on-one time, speaking with him, worshipping him and seeking his guidance and help is wonderful. However, often times when we make prayer requests, it can be discouraging when the request isn’t answered in the timeframe we are expecting. Just as it says in Ecclesiastes 3:1″There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” This is why the importance of prayer and patience is key.

In today’s session we will delve into a few key areas and also review a case study. Some of those areas include, defining patience, the relationships between patience and prayer of faith, and the benefit of prayer of faith. As Christians one of our ultimate goals is to be like Christ, and one thing Jesus did regardless of the situation was take time out to pray. As we learn to focus our life on prayer, may we also learn the art of patience to help us remain steadfast in difficult times.

Minister Hephzibah Akintobi will be facilitating today’s session. Join us as we conclude the final part 10 of our bible study series on the Epistle of James.
