We continue with our new study series: “Keys to Understanding the Bible“. In this forth part, Pastor Jide Lawore will be focusing on “Principles of Bible Interpretation“

For the scripture to benefit us, it must be properly understood and interpreted. The two theological
terminologies important in bible interpretation are Exegesis and Hermeneutics.

Biblical Exegesis is the actual interpretation of the Bible, the bringing out of its meaning. Hermeneutics, however, is the science and art of understanding, translating, and explaining the meaning of the Scripture text.

Pastor Jide Lawore continues with the bible study series “Keys to Understanding the Bible” and he will highlight several concepts such as:

• Understand the overarching story of the Bible
• Identify the kind of literature your text is for insight into its meaning
• Read the text for its plain and obvious meaning
• And so on
