When we kicked-off 2023, our word for the year was my year of “Manifestations of Sonship”. As we close out the year 2023, our final bible study session will be on the Spirit of Sonship. Our anchor verse for tonight will be Romans 8:15 “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry “Abba, Father.”

Often times you may hear the term “we our God’s creation”, but we are so much more than that because of salvation. Our relationship with God is based on a family unit structure which is why we call him our Father and we are his children. As we recognize and understand this dynamic, that is what creates the concept of sonship.

God has called us out to not be slaves or servants who worship and serve him but to be his children! A higher level, a higher calling, one with an inheritance, and most importantly a relationship based on love and not fear.

In tonight’s final bible study session for the year 2023, Pastor Jide will be teaching on the Spirit of Sonship. Let us end 2023 in God’s presence and with a deeper understanding of His love and plans for us.
