Join us tonight at 7:00 PM as we continue our transformative study series, THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE: A Journey Through the Gospel of John. In today’s study, Pastor Gladys Osofisan will lead us through Part 13: Mercy, Conviction, and the Light of the World – Grace and Truth in Action. Our reference text is John 8:1-30.
In this chapter, we see a powerful story of a woman caught in in adultery, used as a pawn to test Jesus’ commitment to the Law. In a moment that remains a timeless lesson for us all, Jesus turns the mirror back on the accusers, revealing that while the Law exposes sin, only Divine Grace can redeem the sinner.
Following this powerful encounter, Jesus stands in the Temple Treasury – a place once illuminated by Great Lamps during the Feast of Tabernacles – and declares, “I am the light of the world.” This chapter explores the deep tension between legalism and love, the necessity of personal conviction, and the invitation to live a life no longer defined by darkness.
